Artem Tereshchenko
Artem Tereshchenko is a Ukrainian pianist from Dnipro who began studying music at the age of six. He has performed with a number of orchestras in Ukraine, both as part of children’s festivals and as a soloist with the Philharmonic, and has been a prize winner and finalist in international competitions. He has also taken part in a number of festivals and academies including Klaipėda Piano Masters, Feuerwerk Piano Academy and the Orbetello Piano Festival.
Artem studied at the Music College of Dnipro named after M. Glinka before completing a Bachelor’s degree at the Music Academy of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. He is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a full ABRSM scholarship.
His repertoire includes lyrical and virtuosic transcriptions, programme music, jazz-inspired works and orchestral transcriptions. He also creates his own arrangements of contemporary songs, composes electronic music, and is exploring ways of combining electronic sounds with live instrumental performance and improvisation.
In recent years Artem has performed in a wide variety of settings, including festivals, outdoor stages, churches, hospitals and children’s concerts. He believes that the most important role of music is to tell stories and communicate emotion, with technical brilliance serving as a means rather than an end. Through his performances, he aims to create authentic musical experiences that connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
