Eleanor Dunsdon & Gregor Black

Glasgow-based harp and percussion duo, Eleanor Dunsdon and Gregor Black, met in 2022 during their time studying on the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Traditional Music course. Drawn to the unlikely combination of instruments, it was here that they began their musical journey as a duo; blending traditional and contemporary with vocals and storytelling, they draw on jazz, folk and classical genres to create a sound that challenges perceptions of the harp and pushes the boundaries of the traditional music scene. Eleanor and Gregor enjoy playing folk and traditional music from Scotland, Ireland and England, as well as their own compositions. Since their formation, they have gone on to win several awards for their music including the Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections, the Purbeck Rising Award, FATEA Magazine’s ‘EP of the Year 2024’, and were appointed as Stoller Hall Emerging Artists for 2025.

Gregor is a percussionist and bodhrán player from Antrim, Ireland. A passion for musical exploration, Gregor enjoys weaving influences from the diverse variety of percussion which he has studied over the years, both classical and traditional. Gregor has performed across the UK, Ireland and the EU with musicians such as Amy Laurenson, Dan Brown and Celtic Legends.

Eleanor is a harpist and singer from Slough, currently living in Glasgow. Drawing on her background in both classical and traditional music, and heavily inspired by the jazz music she grew up with, Eleanor loves exploring the versatility of the harp and has a great passion for promoting its sound and capabilities. As well as writing new material that fully utilises the versatility of the instrument, she strives to bring the clarsach to wider and newer audiences, less conventional venues, and challenge perceptions of the harp. Eleanor has performed at venues and festivals in Canada, the US, Italy and Germany, as well being selected as an Emerging Artist by the United Kingdom Harp Association in 2024.

The duo joined Live Music Now Scotland in 2025 and are excited to reach new audiences with their music.
