Haver Quartet

The Haver Quartet met playing in a Scottish street orchestra, and they’ve been on a musical adventure together ever since. Their mission is to widen access to live music in Scotland and to expand the string quartet repertoire by gleefully crossing genres and engaging with new works. They love creating memorable experiences for listeners, full of joy and moments of connection.

Charlotte Perkins is a violinist, workshop leader, and enthusiastic amateur baker from New Hampshire, USA. Charlotte’s primary teachers have been Alicia Casey, Timothy Kantor, and Maya Iwabuchi, and she plays on a contemporary violin made by Christoph Götting. As a chamber and solo musician, Charlotte specialises in Classical and Early Romantic repertoire.

Brianna Berman is a classically-trained violinist with a love for traditional music. She moved to Glasgow from New York, USA to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Angus Ramsay from 2016-2020 (BMus Hons) and is currently working towards an MA in Music Psychology. Brianna loves to teach and holds teaching-artist positions with both the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Sagnick Mukherjee is a Glasgow-based musician from Kolkata. Since completing his postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he has worked across India and the U.K. in a range of traditional and unconventional settings. Passionate about exploring music from different places, styles, and times, Sagnick enjoys facilitating cross-cultural collaborations and encouraging wider audiences to engage with music.

Cellist Peter Phelan hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. He has performed with orchestras including the Orchestra of Opera North, BBC Philharmonic, and Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra. He teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Juniors Department, Sistema Scotland, and St. Aloysius College. Peter studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Cincinnati under Lee Fiser, Ilya Finkelshteyn, and Eduardo Vassallo.

Whether co-creating arrangements of folk tunes with local young people, recording K-Pop covers, performing John Adams for toddlers at Wigmore Hall, or playing standard quartet repertoire for concert society audiences, Haver Quartet brings infectious enthusiasm, musical commitment, and a good sense of fun.

Haver Quartet joined Live Music Now Scotland in 2025.
