
Simeon Chien
Simeon Chien is currently part of Live Music Now Scotland Pathways Programme which provides disabled musicians with individual, personalised support. Simeon currently performs with The Stone Combo (see artist links at the bottom of the page).
Simeon is a musician living and working in Dundee. With over 16 years of music experience, he has developed an interest in various genres of music, such as rock, pop, jazz, reggae, soul/R&B, classical, metal, country and funk. He plays bass guitar and guitar as his main instruments and can also play drums, piano, ukulele, double bass and bass ukulele.
Simeon showed an interest in music while attending music therapy with Nordoff Robbins at primary school. He continued to develop his knowledge and musical skills throughout his school years. He then obtained an honours degree in popular music and a degree in audio engineering at Perth College UHI.
Simeon’s musical influences vary and include bands and artists like Billy Joel, Kings Of Leon, Queen, Santana, Coldplay, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorious, Herbie Hancock, and Jamiroquai.
Simeon writes his own original music, which is different genres. He enjoys performing covers and his own music with his band. He plays bass guitar with local band Jazzmopolitan. He has also played bass with the Dundee University Big Band for 7 years.
Simeon joined Live Music Now Scotland pathways programme in March 2025. He is passionate about performing and is excited about sharing his love of music with others.
