Resol String Quartet
The Resol String Quartet is brought together by their shared pursuit of excellence and vision to make classical music more inclusive and accessible, to reach new audiences and explore infrequently-played repertoire whilst honouring the rich traditions of string quartet music. The quartet comprises Eliette Harris (Violin 1), Annabel Kidd (Violin 2), Raphael Chinn (Viola) and Chloe Randall (Cello).
In 2021, the RSQ was awarded both the First Prize and Audience Prize in the CAVATINA Competition at the Wigmore Hall. That same year, they made their Perth Concert Hall debut, were named Chamber Music Scotland’s ‘Ones to Watch’ and became Live Music Now Scotland Artists. They also appeared live on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Classics Unwrapped’. Since then, concert highlights have included giving concerts in Conway Hall’s historic ‘Sunday Concert Series’, and the ‘York Late Music Concert Series’. They also enjoyed a residency in Aldeburgh as Britten Pears Young Artists, where they were privileged to perform alongside Nicholas Daniel OBE. This year sees the quartet perform three concerts at the St Magnus International Festival.
Just as at home in education settings and village halls as they are on the concert platform, the Resol Quartet act as ambassadors for chamber music and maintain a regular schedule of both concerts and educational events each season. They have close relationships with Oban High School, Handcross Park School and Worth School in West Sussex, where in June 2022 they adjudicated the final of their Young Musician of the Year Competition.
As students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, they opened the Rosin Chamber Festival alongside the world-renowned Brodsky String Quartet. In the same year, they won First Prize in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Mabel Glover String Quartet Competition and were awarded the Mary D Adams prize for chamber music.
The quartet joined Live Music Now Scotland in 2022.
