Calum Morrison and Catherine Tinney

Calum Morrison, hailing from Glasgow, grew up listening to a wide variety of musical genres including traditional Scottish and Irish music. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's BA (Hons) Scottish Music degree in 2014. Since graduating, he has toured extensively throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America with various groups, including the National Theatre of Scotland, The Recollective and Celtic Legends. In addition to the guitar, Calum also plays the banjo, mandolin, tenor guitar and bodhran and has penned an extensive collection of exciting new tunes, to add to his repertoire of traditional music.

Catherine Tinney hails from the Isle of Skye where she was immersed in Gaelic culture and traditional music from a young age. She previously attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton and is currently based in Glasgow where she is a Gaelic singing and language tutor. Catherine is also a BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2019 finalist.

Calum and Catherine perform a variety of Scottish songs, both from the Gaelic Tradition and well-known Scottish Ballads. In addition to this, they also play their own interpretations of songs taken from many different musical genres.

Calum and Catherine joined Live Music Now in 2019.
