Live Music Now Scotland is looking for emerging musicians at an early stage of their professional careers who want to develop their skills, gain paid performance experience and share live music with people and communities across Scotland.

As a national charity, our work takes us into care homes, hospitals, schools, community spaces, museums, galleries and festivals, as well as public settings in Scotland and internationally. Along the way, our musicians learn to listen, respond and adapt — creating meaningful, shared musical experiences with the people in the room.
There’s lots to explore as part of the LMNS programme. Depending on your interests, skills and availability, you might take part in community and participatory music-making workshops, longer-term residencies, public performances, festivals or international music exchanges.
Alongside paid performance opportunities, we offer training, mentoring, peer learning and ongoing professional development, supporting musicians to build sustainable portfolio careers. We welcome applications from musicians working across a wide range of genres and traditions, and there’s no age limit. You can apply as a solo musician or as part of an established group of up to five.
Our auditions will take place in Glasgow on 29 January, 5, 12 and 19 February 2027, and you’ll need to be available for at least one of these dates.
Successful applicants will also need to attend both compulsory training days on 10 and 11 March 2027. Applications close at 12pm on Thursday 5 November 2026.
You can find an overview of the opportunity and application process on our Auditioning for LMNS webpage, while our Audition Information Pack contains more detailed information about eligibility, the audition process, accessibility, bursaries and what we offer.
If you’re thinking about applying, take some time to get to know our work and the musicians who are already part of LMNS. Have a look through our News & Stories to see LMNS musicians and partners in action, and if it feels like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you.
Accessibility and inclusion matter to us. In our BSL video below, LMNS musician Evie Waddell talks about our organisation, what we look for in our musicians, and what you can expect from the audition process.
