Live Music Now Scotland is a proud member of the Scottish Classical Sustainability Group, which recently surveyed over 100 musicians to find out their attitudes towards international travel, and how we can make touring more environmentally friendly.
The survey said: “Classical music needs to reduce its impact on the planet. International touring is an essential part of the modern industry and it’s been part of the art form for hundreds of years. But it’s currently being done in an unsustainable, carbon-intensive way that contributes to climate change. Why and how we tour classical music needs to shift.”
