Venues & Communities

Whether communities of place, including urban, island and rural, or communities of people, such as those living with dementia or in social isolation, Live Music Now Scotland can support local authorities and groups in inspiring, enriching and transforming people’s lives through music.

In accordance with Scotland’s Culture Strategy – A Culture Strategy for Scotland – Live Music Now Scotland is very aware of its unique role in bringing music to communities throughout the country. As Yehudi Menuhin said in founding Live Music Now, ‘It has been my dream to bring live music back into the everyday lives of people of all ages…in those places where most of us spend our time, where we work, study, suffer or celebrate, be it in office or factory, school or prison, parish hall or church.’

Making a Difference...

How LMNS is providing music and opportunities for people across Scotland.

A collaboration between Live Music Now Scotland and PRISMA resulted in a Mexico residency for LMNS traditional fiddler Roo Geddes.

I really wanted the piece to be interactive. I wanted the audience and the performers to enjoy it, and to give them something to take away.

This summer Live Music Now Scotland was delighted to announce the next stage in an ongoing collaboration with Skye Chamber Music: a residency for LMNS musician Sophie Rocks.

In support of #ClassicalCOP26 we feature our range of sustainable focused projects.

We'd Love to Hear from You!
