Juliette and Nicky

Contemporary-folk duo Nicky Murray & Juliette Lemoine warm hearts with their fresh take on a mix of old classics, country-folk, and original songs. Nicky's husky emotive vocals and spellbinding guitar playing blends with Juliette's folky tones, captivating their audiences and embarking them on spellbinding journeys.

Nicky, a singer and multi-instrumentalist, was self-taught from a young age and began to make a name for himself in 2014 following the release his debut album 'Plenty More Weeping’. He has collaborated with the likes of Martin Stephenson, JJ Gilmour, Elephant Sessions, Kathryn Joseph, Peatbog Faeries, Dave Sharp, and Duncan Chisholm among others. He graduated from the University of Highlands and Islands music degree in 2019, and subsequently went on to release a self-penned EP ‘Wintermore' alongside numerous singles. Nicky's sincere and authentic personality and genuine love of music shine through, allowing him to connect with listeners immediately.

Juliette is an emerging talent in Scotland’s folk scene, recently releasing her debut album 'Soaring' with a sold-out headline launch at Celtic Connections. Classically trained, she fell in love with the music of Martin Hayes, Jenna Moynihan, and Caoimhin O Raghallaigh in her late teens and went on to study Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating with 1st Class Honours. She is passionate about exploring the potential of the cello in a traditional music context and combining this with her love of improvising, harmony and storytelling through music. She has appeared on stages worldwide, performing at internationally renowned events including Celtic Connections and the BBC Proms.

Juliette and Nicky joined the Live Music Now Scotland Scheme in 2023.
