Campus Trio

The Campus Trio is an innovative piano trio, bringing the vibrancy and versatility of the saxophone to this traditional chamber music setting. The ensemble has a unique level of flexibility, as they are able to combine various types of saxophones in order to facilitate transcriptions from a huge range of repertoire – including pieces such as Poulenc’s Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano, as well as Dvorak’s Piano Trio No. 4 ‘Dumky’.

The trio formed in late 2018 while all three musicians were studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and soon after they were awarded the 2019 Governor’s Recital Prize for Chamber Music. They have performed extensively in central Scotland, including a performance as part of the 2019 Fringe Festival at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh. The trio is also Live Music Now Scotland artists, and frequently take part in performances and musical outreach in partnership with the charity.
