David Nicholson

David Nicholson is currently part of Live Music Now Scotland Pathways Programme which provides disabled musicians with individual, personalised support. Following a period of working with experienced LMNS artists in interactive performances, alongside training and mentoring, David will gradually transition to more independent work with LMNS as his confidence and skills grow.

David is a fiddle player from Balcurvie in Fife. Hailing from a musical family with a history of piping, the pipes has had a huge influence on the music that he plays. David started playing the fiddle in 2000 and some of his musical highlights so far include performing at Feis Rois, at the Under Canvas Festival in Inverness, joining the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in 2017 and performing at the Piping Centre in February 2020 with his trio.

David feels privileged to be joining Live Music Now Scotland and is very much looking forward to meeting new people and to performing his music to people who may not have easy access to musical performances.

David is autistic and very passionate about championing autism and neurodiversity within the music and arts communities across Scotland and beyond.

Beyond music, David is a smallholder with a keen passion for agriculture and the countryside. He also enjoys reading, politics, curling, steam locomotives and vintage tractors.
